Dr. Frank Siebke

Before joining Good Energies, Frank Siebke was the Director Technical Services of RWE SCHOTT Solar GmbH, a leading German PV company based in Alzenau, where he was responsible for engineering, industrial IT, facility management and maintenance. As former Head of Production and Technology Photovoltaics for Schott Glas in Mainz, Frank Siebke supported the entry of Schott Glas into the field of PV production. His tasks included the assessment of PV technologies and PV companies, the development of a business plan and the identification of potential cooperation partners. The activities resulted in the foundation of the joint venture RWE SCHOTT Solar GmbH.

In 1998 he joined Shell Solar Deutschland GmbH as Head of Process Technology in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. During his deployment to Shell Solar B.V. (NL), Frank Siebke was involved in the design and construction of the first fully automated solar cell production line and ensured the know how transfer to Shell’s German operations. In Gelsenkirchen he focussed on the implementation of processes, the successful start up of the production line, and the optimization and continuous improvement of production. From 1987 to 1998 Frank Siebke worked as researcher in the field of amorphous semiconductor material science and solar cell technology at the Research Center Jülich and Sanyo Electric in Osaka.

Frank Siebke studied physics at the RWTH Aachen. He earned his Ph.D. in 1992 at the RWTH Aachen on material science in the field of amorphous semiconductors. Additionally, he executed postgraduate studies of economics at the FernUniversität Hagen and Total Quality Management at the University of Kaiserslautern.
