6N Silicon Inc., Greater Toronto Area (Canada) has developed a disruptive process for the production of true solar grade silicon. The process offers substantial improvements in scale-up-speed, reduced capital cost and reduced operational costs. The company intends on becoming the leading global supplier of solar grade silicon to the solar industry.
Concentrix Solar GmbH, Freiburg (Germany) was founded in 2005 and produces concentrator modules for solar power plants for sun-rich locations. By means of Fresnel-lenses the sunlight is concentrated and reflected onto a small solar cell. The highly efficient solar cells transform the light, which is concentrated with a ratio of 500, directly into electric power.
Konarka, Lowell/Massachusetts (USA) was founded in July 2001 and produces organic PV modules on flexible substrates. Konarka?s innovative, light-sensitive products use next generation nano-materials that are printed on rolls of plastic at substantially lower cost than traditional photovoltaics and with many more practical applications.
NorSun AS, Oslo (Norway) was founded in 2005. NorSun targets to become the leading and most cost-effective producer of mono crystalline ingots and wafers for the international solar industry. The production, which is planned to reach ca 600 MWp in 2011, will be carried out in Årdal – Norway and in Singapore.
Q-Cells SE, Thalheim (Germany) was founded 1999. Q-Cells is the largest solar cell manufacturer. As of 31 December 2007, 1700 people were employed by Q-Cells. By 2008 the company produces mono-crystalline and multi-crystalline solar cells with a total performance of 389.2 megawatt peak in Thalheim and is building factories in Mexico and Malaysia.
Resolar, Milan (Italy) is a solar energy company that focuses on developing grid connected PV solar parks in Italy and the Mediterranean countries. It has successfully progressed various projects in its pipeline into construction in Southern Italy.
Solarcentury Holdings Limited, London (UK) is the UK's leading solar energy company, specialising in the design and supply of building integrated solar technologies. Based in London, with operations in the UK, France and Spain, it has installed over 500 solar systems including those on the Eden Project, Vauxhall Cross Bus Terminal and Europe's largest vertical solar facade on the CIS Tower, Manchester. Good Energies has been invested since August 2007.
Solarfun Power Holdings, Qidong City (China) was established in August 2004 by Linyang Electronics, one of the leading electricity-measuring instrument manufacturers in China. Today, Solarfun is an established manufacturer of both photovoltaic cells and modules.
SolarReserve Inc., Santa Monica/California (USA) was formed under collaboration between United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a Dow 30 conglomerate, and US Renewables Group, a private equity firm focused exclusively on renewable energy. SolarReserve holds the exclusive worldwide license to build state-of-the-art Concentrated Solar Power plants that use equipment manufactured by UTC?s subsidiary, Hamilton Sundstrand Rocketdyne.
Sunfilm AG, Grossröhrsdorf (Germany) was formed in December 2006 by Good Energies and NorSun. It produces PV modules by combining the production efficiencies and resulting cost advantages of ultra large size glass substrates with the higher module efficiencies of dual junction silicon thin film.
Xjet, Rehovot (Israel) is an equipment supplier for the solar industry. The company?s vision is to redefine solar cells cost efficiency through the introduction of a next generation fab-grade Inkjet printer for metallization. Fab-grade inkjets can deliver 24/7 deposition of fine features with high repeatability, high reliability and high throughput. Xjet?s FabGrade inkjet is developed by some of the same experts who delivered two of the world?s most successful industrial inkjet printers; HP?s wide format TurboJet and Objet?s 3D rapid prototyping Eden printer.
3TIER Inc., Seattle/Washington (USA) specializes in assessing and forecasting the availability of weather-driven renewable resources including hydro, solar and wind. With the “REmapping the World” campaign, 3TIER is mapping the world for wind and solar resources, country by country, based upon a priority order that takes into account such issues as renewable energy policies, availability of renewable energy resource and economic status.
C-Free Power Corp., North Vancouver/British Columbia (Canada) is a renewable energy company focused on developing wind power and run-of-river hydro projects in Western Canada. C-Free Power has offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Saskatoon.
Continental Wind Partners, Wilmington/Delaware (USA) is a leading renewable energy fund operating in Central Europe and Australasia. The primary focus is currently wind energy and CWP has a project pipeline of over 2GW in Central Europe alone.
Eolectric Inc., Longueuil/Québec (Canada) a major player in the early stages of wind project development in Canada with the main focus on Quebec. It specializes in identifying promising areas, securing land rights, assessing the wind resource, building community support and securing permits.
EverPower Renewables Corporation, New York/New York (USA) is a developer of utility grade wind projects. The company seeks to identify or acquire early stage development opportunities in the Northeastern and Mid Atlantic Regions of the United States and in other select locations where EverPower believes there is a strong strategic and investment rationale for pursuing project opportunities. EverPower is primarily a green field developer. By identifying and developing project sites from early stages EverPower seeks to manage the inherent risks of project development and maximize value in the process.

Jasper Wind, Athens (Greece) is a renewable energy company that focuses on developing wind and solar projects in Greece as well as nearby countries. It has a pipeline of over 1 GW of wind projects and over 100 MW of solar projects. It also owns two wind farms in Greece that have been operating for approximately 8 years as well as various projects in construction.
Relight Energy SRL, Milan (Italy) is a renewable energy company that focuses on developing wind projects in Italy and other Mediterranean countries with a vision to realise over 200MW of projects over the next 3 years.
Second Wind Inc., Somerville/Massachusetts (USA) is a leading provider of electronics and software for the utility-scale wind energy industry. Products include the Triton Sonic Wind Profiler that captures wind data unattended; SkyServe, a secure, online repository for wind data, and other wind park and power measurement tools.

Ventus Energy, Toronto (Canada) is a developer of wind farms in Canada. Good Energies divested and Ventus became the platform for North American wind development for energy giant SUEZ in 2007.
